Peaceful Poinsettia

A poinsettia Christmas card using my favourite Christmas stamp; it can be the focus of the card or the sentiment or both.  I stamped in two-tone red and green, then sponged around the edges to tone down the starkness of the cream cardstock.

I used:  Kaisercraft Christmas Collection dp, Rosie's Studio red textured cardstock and Green Collection cardstock, Poppy Stamps Blooming Poinsettia die, MFT Die-namics Prima Donna Petals for flower centre, Stamp-It Peaceful Background stamp, Memento Rhubarb Stalk and Bamboo Leaves ink, gold brad, foam tape.

Burlap Flower 2

My second attempt at a burlap flower, this time following the Woo Hoo Wednesday tutorial at Inspired By Stamping.  I used a soft hessian-like natural wafer ribbon finished with a metal button.  Instead of knotting at the back, I threaded the twine through to the front and tied it there.

I used:  Basic Grey dp, scraps of ivory and light green cardstock, Natural Wafer Ribbon from Harry Brown Designs, EK Success lattice punch, CC Designs Cutters butterfly die, Marianne Design Creatables leaf die, metal button, brown pearls, Memento Rich Cocoa ink, Ladybug Crafts Ink It's Only Words 1 stamp set, kitchen twine.

Burlap Flower

A birthday card with a burlap (hessian) flower not using the Woo Hoo Wednesday tutorial at Inspired by Stamping. I only had a scrap of hessian so cut layers with Spellbinders Rose Creations dies and topped with a wooden button threaded with a string of hessian that had frayed off.  I might have another go with some burlap ribbon or maybe cut up (gasp) an old hessian bag I haven't used in years.

I used:  Basic Grey Clippings dp, stitched natural ribbon, Inspired By Stamping Small Fancy Labels 18 stamp set, Spellbinders Rose Creations dies, Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

Winter Wonderland

A Christmas card in non-tradional colours using my favourite stamping technique - colouring the stamp with Distress Markers instead of an ink pad.  As You Like It Challenge is asking whether spots or stripes are favourite; mine is spots - so  much easier to fit into any design, not like stripes which have a definite direction the paper has to go.

I used:  lilac polka dot paper from stash, Hero Arts Two Birds In A Tree cling stamp, Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Markers in Dusty Concord and Spun Sugar, white crinkle ribbon from Little Scrap Pieces, purple twine from The Twinery, foam tape to pop up image panel, MC sentiment sticker.
