I've been making journals for craft fairs and this 6x4 inch size seems to be the most popular.
The covers are made from any old cardstock or manila folder covered in brown paper that has been given the faux leather-look treatment with ink and sprays, then given a coating or two of Mod Podge to seal.
This journal cover has pretty paper added onto the front before sealing, then a label and metal corners to finish it off.
The inside cover has patterned paper and a double pocket for tags or whatever else might fit.
The pages are coffee dyed printer/copy paper, stamped with a rose image and sewn in with a very simple pamphlet stitch using cream crochet thread.
Sewn at the centre of each signature is an envelope which is glued after stitching to hide the thread knot.
The journal contains 6 signatures, each with 5 pages folded in half plus an envelope, making 10 pages or 20 pages front and back, a total of 120 pages and 6 envelopes.
